Summer Term Second Half Message
The Snowflake Room
Our Classroom is named The Snowflake Room. Alongside focussed activities, we can learn in the continuous provision areas. We have a Home Corner, Reading Area, Understanding the World/Fine Motor Area, Writing Area, Mathematics Area, Sand Area and Construction Area.
The Annexe
We now have a wet room to enable our children to change into waterproofs and wellies so they can access our new equipment safely - and mainly, keep clean and dry! The Rain and Shine room has also been adapted to house even more new outdoor resources and equipment which can be accessed by the children during independent learning time.

Year 1 Recommended Reading List
Giving children access to all varieties of literature is extremely important for their success. Reading is a key life skill which is crucial to developing language skills and access to the wider curriculum. It provides children with the chance to respond and develop personal opinions encouraging deeper thoughts and their imagination. Our aim is to develop a love and passion for reading both at home and school. We have specially selected high quality reading books for each year group. Some of these books can be found in the classroom and some are available for loan at Lees library. Encourage your child to read as many of these books as possible throughout the year.
Please select the document below to see the books we recommend.

Things to Remember
Your child should always come to school on a FRIDAY in their PE kit. Please make sure that they are wearing suitable trainers and have a pair of joggers in case of outdoor PE.
Please make sure your child brings a coat to school everyday. Outdoor learning is a vital part of your child's learning and will happen on a daily basis. We kindly ask for you to provide us with a pair of wellies for your child which can be kept in school so the children can go and learn outdoors in all weathers! The wellies need to be labelled with the child’s name or initials please.
