Summer 2 Message from Miss Lawton
Welcome back to our final half term in Year 3! We cannot believe the academic year is coming to an end. We have still got lots of exciting topics to do to complete our year off, including our trip on Monday 18th June to the Roman Centre in Chester. We are also looking forward to our Wimbledon topic where we have got a tennis coach coming in to work with us.
This half term we will be completing those final BBs and getting them ticked off ready for Year 4. Please keep practising your spellings and timestables so we can bust them tricky BBs! If you are looking for other activities to do at home, go to our Learning Zone where there are lots of links for you to explore.
Thank you so much for all of your support this year, if you have any worries or concerns do not hesitate to communicate through the planner or book an appointment.
Teaching and Learning Newsletters
Year 3’s weekly homework is incorporated into the nine grids of the Home Grid. The Homework Grid needs to be completed weekly and signed/dated by a parent or guardian. This will be checked on the same day as the planner.
The children are expected to read to an adult at home at least three times a week, if not daily. The planner must then be signed by the adult.
Spellings and Times Tables
Spellings will be sent home each Tuesday and a test will take place the following Tuesday with Mrs Shewan.
Times Tables will be sent home Friday and a test will take place the following Thursday.
Things to Remember
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Children must come into school in their PE kit.
Tuesday afternoons with Mrs Shewan.
Children must bring in any library books which have been taken home to be read/shared.
This is sent home every night for easy communication with parents. It must be sent into school each day inside the book bag.
The planner must be signed weekly by a parent or guardian.
All children’s planners will be checked on a set day, details of which can be found at the front of the planner.
