Autumn 2 Message from Miss Lawton

'What a great start to the year we have had! Year 3 are ready for the busy half term ahead with some great topics.   Starting with the exciting topic of 'The Amazing Ancient Egyptians', then moving on to 'How Do I Move? and 'Why Do We Sing at Christmas?'.  We are linking up with the Year 3 children at Westwood Academy on Wednesday 15th November, with a trip to Westwood Mosque.  Thank you for a super start to the year and your ongoing support. Reading

The children are expected to read to an adult at home at least three times a week, if not daily. The planner must then be signed by the adult.

Spellings and Times Tables

Spellings will be sent home each Tuesday and a test will take place the following Tuesday with Mrs Shewan.

Times Tables will be sent home Friday and a test will take place the following Thursday.

Things to Remember

PE

Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

Children must come into school in their PE kit.

Library Visit

Tuesday afternoons with Mrs Shewan.

Children must bring in any library books which have been taken home to be read/shared.

Planner

This is sent home every night for easy communication with parents. It must be sent into school each day inside the book bag.

The planner must be signed weekly by a parent or guardian.

All children’s planners will be checked on a set day, details of which can be found at the front of the planner.
