Autumn 1 Message from Miss Lawton
The Year 3 team would like to welcome your child into their new class. We are going to have a fantastic year with lots of great learning ahead!
As outlined on the Autumn 1 Teaching and Learning Newsletter we will be learning through six great topics: ‘Bonjour!’, ‘Rules for Living’, ‘Where In The World?’, ‘Let There Be Light’, ‘Three little Birds’ and ‘Democracy and Liberty’.
We would like to welcome you to Year 3’s Welcome Meeting on Tuesday 12th September, 3:30-4:00pm and 6:00-6:30pm. We are looking forward to meeting everybody and please get in touch if you have any queries in the meantime.
Thank you for your ongoing support!
Teaching and Learning Newsletters
Year 3’s weekly homework is incorporated into the nine grids of the Home Grid. The Homework Grid needs to be completed weekly and signed/dated by a parent or guardian. This will be checked on the same day as the planner.
The children are expected to read to an adult at home at least three times a week, if not daily. The planner must then be signed by the adult.
Spellings and Times Tables
Spellings will be sent home each Tuesday and a test will take place the following Tuesday with Mrs Shewan.
Times Tables will be sent home Friday and a test will take place the following Thursday.
Things to Remember
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Children must come into school in their PE kit.
Tuesday afternoons with Mrs Shewan.

This is sent home every night for easy communication with parents. It must be sent into school each day inside the book bag.
The planner must be signed weekly by a parent or guardian.
All children’s planners will be checked on a set day, details of which can be found at the front of the planner.
