Spring 1 Message from Miss Lawton
Happy New Year!
We sincerely hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! After such a busy and exciting end to the Autumn Term, we are hoping for a slightly quieter half-term where we can focus on lots of interesting topic work, along with lots of BB activities! Our topics this half term are: 'There Was A Monkey', 'Let The Force Be With You', 'Pop Art' and 'Ca Va?' We are linking up with Westwood Academy children again this half term on Wednesday 7th February, where we are going to Oldham Gallery. Thank you for your ongoing support! If you have any concerns, questions or queries in the meantime, please feel free to make an appointment to see me before or after school.
Teaching and Learning Newsletters
Year 3’s weekly homework is incorporated into the nine grids of the Home Grid. The Homework Grid needs to be completed weekly and signed/dated by a parent or guardian. This will be checked on the same day as the planner.
The children are expected to read to an adult at home at least three times a week, if not daily. The planner must then be signed by the adult.
Spellings and Times Tables
Spellings will be sent home each Tuesday and a test will take place the following Tuesday with Mrs Shewan.
Times Tables will be sent home Friday and a test will take place the following Thursday.
Things to Remember
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Children must come into school in their PE kit.
Tuesday afternoons with Mrs Shewan.
Children must bring in any library books which have been taken home to be read/shared.
This is sent home every night for easy communication with parents. It must be sent into school each day inside the book bag.
The planner must be signed weekly by a parent or guardian.
All children’s planners will be checked on a set day, details of which can be found at the front of the planner.
