Autumn 1 Message from Miss Lawton

Welcome to Year 3! We hope you are looking forward to the exciting learning that we have planned for this half term.

At St. Thomas’ we value the link between home and school. We recognise the importance of parental support as it is vital to ensure the maximum progress and achievement for your child. If you have any concerns, questions or queries, please write in your child’s planner or feel free to make an appointment to see me before or after school. I look forward to meeting with you at the Parent Welcome Meeting on Monday 9th September 2019 (3.30 – 4.00 pm or 6.00 – 6.30 pm).

Many thanks for your support, Miss Rebecca Lawton

Home Learning

Homework

Year 3’s weekly homework is incorporated into the nine sections of the Homework Grid. The Homework Grid needs to be completed each week and signed by an adult.

I will check and sign the previous week of the Homework Grid on your child’s designated day which is found at the front of the planner.

Reading

The children are expected to read to an adult at least three times a week, if not daily. Please note in the planner every time you read with your child.

Spellings

These will be sent home each Friday and tested the following Thursday. It is important for each child to have a practise of their spellings at home, which is part of their Homework Grid.

Times Table Rock Stars

Please visit the website by clicking on the picture link and login.  If you need help to login please contact your child's class teacher.

Things to Remember

PE

Please come to school in your FULL P.E. kit every Monday and Wednesday wearing your Always Badge.

Library Visit

Friday afternoons.

Children must bring in any library books that they have taken home to read/shared.

Planner

This is to be in your child’s book bag every day to ensure easy communication between school and home. Checked each day and signed once a week on your child’s designated day. See in the front of planner.
