Year 3 Parent Welcome - September 2020
Normally at this time of year, all the classes hold meetings with parents to welcome you to the new class and inform you of class expectations and requirements. Unfortunately, this year it will not be possible to invite you into school. Instead each class will have uploaded a Powerpoint onto the class pages of the website for you to read by home time today. Please have a look and contact the class teacher via the planner with any queries.

Welcome to Year 3
Welcome back to the new academic year! We are excited to start our journey in KS2 off after a very turbulent year so far with lots of exciting topics planned. We are starting with our New Beginnings topic to get to know our new class routines and what life is like in Key Stage Two. We move on to Bienvenue, Rules for Living, Where In The World? and Let There Be Light. I look forward to be teaching Year 3 again this year and welcoming the children on Wednesday 2nd September.
Please keep an eye on this Year 3 Class Page for more information and updates throughout the year.
Many thanks for your ongoing support,
Year 3’s weekly homework is incorporated into the nine sections of the Homework Grid. The Homework Grid needs to be completed each week and signed by an adult.
I will check and sign the previous week of the Homework Grid on your child’s designated day which is found at the front of the planner.
The children are expected to read to an adult at least three times a week, if not daily. Please note in the planner every time you read with your child.
These will be sent home each Friday and tested the following week. It is important for each child to have a practise of their spellings at home, which is part of their Homework Grid.
Things to Remember
Tuesday and Thursday.
Children must come to school in their full PE kit wearing their Always Badge.
All children need pumps that can be left in school.
Not happening at the moment due to the current restrictions.
This is to be in your child’s book bag every day to ensure easy communication between school and home.
The planner must be signed weekly by a parent or guardian, I will check and sign the previous week during Guided Read time.
