Summer 2 Message from Miss Bamber
Hello again from myself and the Year 4 team of Mrs Douglas, Mrs Bishop and Mr Wildhood. So here we are, our final half term of the school year and only six weeks left as a class together. The children will at some point enjoy ‘Move up morning’ and spend time in their new class with their new teacher.
This is a short half term and we will be learning through four great topics. We will be learning about electricity through ‘High Voltage, we will have a wider study of PE through looking at the World Cup, we will look at places of worship in RE through ‘Sacred Places’ and finally we will look at British Values Individual liberty and respect for diversity.
This half term we have our class trip to Yorkshire Wildlife Park on the 27th June and have lots of fun activities such as sports day and the talent show to fit in before the summer holidays.
It has been a fantastic year teaching Year Four and I am so proud of all they have achieved.
Thank you again to you all for your support.
Teaching and Learning Newsletters
Year 4's weekly homework is incorporated into the nine sections of the Homework Grid, presented in a booklet for the whole half term. The Homework Grid needs to be completed weekly and signed/dated by a parent or guardian. This will be checked on the same day as the planner.
The children are expected to read to an adult at home at least three times a week, if not daily. The planner must then be signed by the adult .
Spellings and Times Tables
Spellings will be sent home on a Wednesday and tested the following Wednesday. Times Tables will be tested on a Thursday.
Things to Remember
Children must come into school in their PE kit.
Children must bring in any Library books which have been taken home to be read/shared.
This is sent home every night for easy communication with parents. It must be sent into school each day inside the book bag.
The planner must be signed weekly by a parent or guardian.
All children's planners will be checked on a set day, details of which can be found at the front of the planner.
