Home Learning

We feel that homework should help to develop the whole child. Homework is an integral part of the curriculum and should not always need to be worksheet based as ‘work at home’ can come in many guises and can be enjoyable. High standards of homework are always expected.

The homework is broad and balanced and parent/community partnership will help develop children’s skills and interests.

Each class from reception to year 6 has their own grid with nine areas which should be fulfilled each week. Your child does not have to do every item in each of the 9 boxes but school will work with parents to ensure homework is varied and enjoyable choosing various items from the grid.

Children are encouraged to read at home with parents as well as learning spellings. All children go to Lees library on a weekly basis to encourage children to enjoy reading and will borrow books to bring home.
